Job Description

Provides and oversees services provided to clients in accordance with the Montana Nurse Practice Act, agency policy, and accepted professional standards of practice. Supervises nursing staff involved in patient care. Ensures that Medallion Hospice is compliant on all patient care issues. Assists in marketing to all audiences that refer to Highlands Hospice, including physicians, case managers, and staff at hospitals, nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

  • Oversees the electronic medical record and acts as liaison between the clinical team and staff who bill for services

  • Serves as the RN representative to the Inter-Disciplinary Team

  • Coordinates care between clinical team and hospitals, nursing homes and assisted living facilities

  • Oversees clinical orientation, in-services and assessment of skills and competencies; assists with review and implementation of appropriate changes to policies and procedures annually.

Required Skills

  • Licensed RN in the State of Montana, good standing.

  • Must have knowledge of the application of diagnostic and crisis intervention skills.

  • Must have the ability to respond calmly and effectively in stressful situations; assess patient needs; reassess continuing patient needs; communicate effectively with other health care providers.

  • Strong, effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Must possess strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to move independently or with reasonable accommodation within the facility and community.

  • Applicant must be physically and mentally able to perform all requirements of the job.

  • Current driver’s license and reliable transportation.

  • Applicant must pass a background check and DMV check.

Required Experience

  • 3-5 years experience working with elderly or terminally ill preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred or diploma with three years experience working with elderly or terminally ill.

  • Current CPR certification.
